Notice

We know about some playback issues and are finishing a release that fixes them. Thanks for bearing with us.

Orpheus is free, and it's staying that way

Everything Orpheus does today is free in every server, and always will be. That’s 24/7, lyrics, filters, autoplay, radio stations, saved playlists and the dashboard. I won’t add limits to any of it later, and I won’t move any of it behind a paywall.

Anything I add later will be new, built on top of this. Nothing you use now will get worse.

If you’d like to support Orpheus another way, there’s a Ko-fi page. A donation is a gift and doesn’t unlock anything. Why Orpheus works this way is on the about page.

What “free” covers

On 23 September 2026, before anything was sold, this is what Orpheus does. All of it stays free in every server, with no limits added later:

  • Playing: /play from links and search, including Spotify, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Vimeo and direct links, /search, /nowplaying, and the player card with its buttons
  • The queue: /skip, /pause, /resume, /stop and /seek, and /queue, which shows what's coming and can remove, move, clear, shuffle or loop it
  • 24/7: /admin stay keeps Orpheus in your voice channel around the clock, pausing automatically when the channel's empty
  • Sound: /volume, /filter with every effect, including bass boost and nightcore, and /admin segments to skip sponsor segments
  • Lyrics: /lyrics for the song that's playing
  • Radio: every /radio station (moods, genres, scenes, decades, charts and artists), /admin autoplay, likes with /liked add and the like button, and blocks with /admin block
  • Playlists: 50 playlists of 500 songs each with /playlist, importing up to 200 songs at a time from links and search across Spotify, SoundCloud and Bandcamp, exporting them, and your liked songs with /liked
  • The dashboard: the player, queue, radio, statistics, sessions, settings and playlists
  • Server settings: the DJ role with /admin dj, the player channel with /admin channel, and announcements you can switch off with /admin announcements
  • Help: /help, for everything Orpheus can do

Free things added since

These came after that date and are free the same way, with no limits added later:

  • Setup: /admin setup, to set up Orpheus in your server: the player channel, the DJ role, 24/7 and more
  • Together: the weekly top 10 chart, with /server charts to see it any time and an option to have it posted every Monday
  • Now playing: the song that's on, shown under the voice channel's name
  • Rewind: the monthly server Rewind card, and /server rewind to see it again

Anything added later can only ever be new things added after this date. If something on these lists ever needs a payment, the promise has been broken.
