Orpheus stays for as long as you want it to

Turn on 24/7 and Orpheus stays in the voice channel with your queue, even when nobody's there. Leave it off and it leaves an empty channel on its own, and keeps your queue for a day in case you come back.

24/7 mode

It pauses when the channel empties

Turn it on with /247 enabled: True or the “Stay in the channel” switch on the dashboard. It's a server setting, and changing it needs Manage Server.

60 seconds after the last person leaves, Orpheus pauses. It keeps the queue, the song and your place in it. Bots in the channel don't count as people.

As soon as somebody joins again, it carries on with no wait. If a person had paused it before everyone left, it stays paused, because Orpheus only resumes what it paused itself.

Orpheus keeps your queue for a day

This is the default. When the channel has been empty for 60 seconds, Orpheus leaves and keeps the song that was playing and everything queued behind it for 24 hours.

    A minute after the last person goes, it posts that it left because everyone had gone and how many tracks it kept. It keeps who added each one too.

  2. 02You come back within a day

    Use /play in that server. It plays what you asked for, then sends you a message only you can see with a Bring them back button.

  3. 03Press the button in the voice channel

    The kept tracks go in after whatever is already queued. The song that was playing starts again from the beginning.

Orpheus keeps one queue per server, and you can bring it back once. It doesn't keep loop mode, filters or a one-off volume. A radio station that was running stays for a day as well, and picks up again if a queue runs out on the server in that time.

Updates and restarts

Most updates cause a gap of a few seconds

While the bot restarts, the audio server keeps playing for up to 5 minutes. When the bot comes back it picks up the music that's still going and puts the rest of your queue back behind it.

To bring your queue back, Orpheus saves each server's session every 15 seconds: the voice channel, the text channel, the song and where it was, whether it was paused, and the queue.

After a longer outage

If the music stopped, Orpheus decides server by server. With 24/7 on, it rejoins the channel. With it off, it rejoins only if people are still there and there was something to play.

Where it picks up

It restores the song at the saved spot, which can be up to 15 seconds back, keeps it paused if it was, and brings the queue back. If a song won't load, Orpheus searches for it again and drops it if the search finds nothing.

What starts fresh

Loop mode, filters and a volume set without remember go back to their defaults. Orpheus saves radio stations separately, so they carry on.

Add Orpheus to your server

It asks for seven permissions, and Administrator isn't one of them. You can remove it from your server at any time.
